While waiting for Warwickshire roofing contractors or your own contractors, there are temporary remedies you can use to prevent further damage from leaks, although our advice would be to wait for the experts and not go onto the roof.
CAUTION: it is very easy to slip, particularly on wet tiles and there is danger from tree branches, power lines and ladders

On the inside, set up buckets under leaky areas and punch a pencil or screwdriver into the lowest part of the ceiling around the leaks to relieve the water pressure, and to prevent the weight of the water pulling the ceiling down.

On the outside of the roof, you can use plastic sheeting if at all possible, a broken tile could be put into a plastic carrier bag then re inserted as a temporary repair.

If the problem is a flat roof, plastic sheeting/tarpaulin etc, is the only temporary cure. The problem with flat roofs is you may see a split in the felts, but it is not necessarily the cause of the leak, and you may cause more problems by going upand down numerous times. Remember to lock down the edges or the wind will take it off possibly causing more damage.
